Free Local Services Ads lead dispute log

Track every Google Local Services Ads lead, flag the bad ones before the 30-day window closes, confirm which were credited and see what bad leads really cost you.

Quick answer

This free Local Services Ads lead dispute log tracks every LSA lead in one sheet: date, type, job, charge, whether it was valid and why not. It counts down the 30-day window for each bad lead, tells you which ones still need to be rated in your account, and records credits received. The summary shows your bad-lead rate, unrecovered spend, booked jobs and net cost per booked job. It works in Excel and Google Sheets with no email required.

Instructions and a plain-English summary of how Google handles bad leads now.

How to use it

Five steps. About ten minutes.

Works in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets (upload it to Google Drive and open it with Sheets) and Apple Numbers.

  1. 01

    Log every lead

Every day or two, add each new lead: date, phone call or message, who it was, what they asked for and what you were charged.

  2. 02

    Review and mark it

Listen to the recording or read the message, then mark Valid lead? Yes or No and pick the issue for bad leads.

  3. 03

Rate bad leads in your account

Open the lead in your Local Services Ads account and use Rate this lead before the Rate by date, then mark Rated in LSA? Yes.

  4. 04

    Confirm credits

Check the lead’s charge status a few days later and record any credit you received.

  5. 05

    Review the summary monthly

Watch your bad-lead rate and cost per booked job. Repeated wrong-service or wrong-area leads usually mean your profile settings need fixing.

How Google handles bad leads now

Google checks leads when they arrive and doesn’t charge for ones it judges invalid. It keeps reassessing charged leads and can credit low-quality ones automatically, usually within about 30 days (Google Local Services Help). You can still flag a bad lead using the Rate this lead survey in your account.

Fix your profile instead of disputing

Google has said it no longer credits leads for job types or areas you don’t serve (Google). If those keep showing up in your log, tighten the job types and service area in your profile so you stop paying for them.

Why a log still matters

Automatic credits don’t catch everything, and Google reviews lead quality over a 30-day period (Google). A simple log shows you which leads still need attention, what you got back and your true cost per booked job.

Can you still dispute Local Services Ads leads?

Google moved to automated lead credits and replaced the old dispute button with a Rate this lead survey. Google reviews leads and may credit low-quality ones automatically (Google Local Services Help). Rating bad leads still gives Google feedback on lead quality.

How long do I have to flag a bad LSA lead?

Google assesses lead quality over a 30-day period (Google), so review and rate leads as soon as you can. This log counts down 30 days from each lead so nothing slips past.

Which bad leads get credited?

Google credits leads it determines are invalid or low quality, such as spam or duplicates. It has said leads for job types or areas you don’t serve are no longer credited (Google), so fix those in your profile settings.

How long do LSA credits take?

Google says credits are usually applied to your account balance within 30 days (Google). Credits go to your ads balance, not back to your card.

What is a normal bad-lead rate for Local Services Ads?

It varies by trade, market and profile setup. Track your own rate in this log for a few months. If it climbs, look at which issue causes most of it and fix that first.

Does this work in Google Sheets?

Yes. Upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. The dropdowns, countdowns and summary keep working.
